Despite being in my sixth decade of life, I still see women putting others first, being polite, and taking a back seat to allow others shine. What a tough line to straddle. When you are inherently kind and compassionate it can be tricky to navigate self-advocation and making a massive impact.
Can women do both? Can they show up at work, in their families, and in society as compassionate and gracious as well as strong and impactful? I believe we can. What helps me is to remember that I am a role-model for other women, young and older. It is my duty to be kind and courageous. I practice showing up as caring and in integrity with my values. It is not always easy. That's for sure. And I can be easily toppled by a dirty look or honking horn! How is your courage toppled by society?
And most importantly, how do you get back up and stand in your courage, your authenticity and your grace? I know you can. Let's keep doing so for ourselves and for women of all ages. You are seen. You are appreciated!
