Have You Said "Thank you" to your Stress Today?
That's right! Say "Thank you!" to your stress, because your stress is giving you vital information about your mental and emotional state that empowers you to pivot. When you are stressed out by daily "stuff," what shows up for you in your body?
Common signs of stress include:
· Tense shoulders
· Tight chest
· Palpitations
· Sweaty palms
· "Butterflies"
· Shortness of breath
· Heaviness in chest
When you feel these symptoms, it's time to PAUSE and say, "Thank you stress, for showing up in my body in a recognizable way." Without these physical cues, you may find yourself in a spiral of fearful and anxious thoughts.
So now that you said "thanks" and are pausing to express gratitude, what's next?
It's time to practice distancing from your thoughts to reduce your overwhelm. Begin to treat your feelings as they are - in motion. They are not immovable and will pass.
