The thought of sitting with what you cannot change can bring up a lot of discomfort. Sitting with what is, would mean allowing it to be. And when you allow feelings to be, you are not taking any action to create change.
This can feel frustrating. But if you were to, take action that resists what is going on, even more frustration sets in. When you push, there is push-back. What you resist, persists.
There is always an opportunity for new thought patterns, chosen actions and better feeling thoughts. First it is helpful to sit with what is. Ground yourself on the Earth or in your seat. Bring you attention to the weight of your body as it is begins to feel like a puddle in your space. Place your arms on your lap with your hands open, in a stance of willingness to allow. Bring your attention to your breath, as you feel the heaviness of your head upon your neck, and your neck upon your shoulders. Continue with a body scan, as you melt into the moment, as you feel your painful or uncomfortable feelings with open, willing hands. Continue to breathe and allow space for your feelings.
