To me, living green is to be environmentally conscious. I challenge you to open your mind and notice all that your environment really includes. #environmentalism
Here are some areas to consider “greening”
1. The environment of your body
2. The environment of your mind
3. The environment of your cherished relationships
4. The environment of your physical space
Are you ready to take it up a notch, and stop settling for good enough?
To achieve less-stress and more-success it is critical to be cognizant of greening the above areas of your life.🪴
To keep your body "green," you keep your body clean. The short list on how to accomplish this – drink plenty of pure water. Plan for this and drink it all day long. Warm water is fine when the mood strikes. Drink it with herbal or green tea. Choose organically grown foods if possible. Refer to the Environmental Working Groups Dirty Dozen and Clean 15 list to help make the best choices for you. Add in double the amount of green veggies you eat now. Doing so will crowd out your cravings and add to your nutritional consumption. Eat your veggies both raw and cooked and get your body in an alkaline state. "Greening" your body starts with more water and more veggies!
To green your mind, use creative visualization, tapping or conscious breathing. For more on this watch my video on how to use EFT to clean up your emotions. How do you separate your thoughts from your feelings? One way to notice the difference is to be aware of body sensations. When you are emotional, your body will give you a signal. This could be an elevated heart rate, butterflies in your stomach, sweaty palms, rapid breathing and more. Your emotions are energy in motion and they trigger a response. Your thoughts are providing you input at all times. To help "green" your mind, witness your thoughts as if you are watching a movie. Take steps to challenge whether your thoughts is true and valid, or even meaningful. Practice letting go of non-useful thoughts. Creative visualization is a great way to achieve this! https://www.youtube.com/@carlahugovisualizeit
Have you thought about how your relationships create your environment? Take the time now to weed, prune, fertilize and nurture your relationships and "green" them up. Your level of stress will dramatically reduce when you have peaceful and supportive relationships in your life. This may take adopting some new communication skills, advocating for yourself in new ways, and protecting yourself with effective boundaries. Listen in to my talk about the importance of mindfulness in relationships. When you clean the environment of your relationships, friendships will flourish and romance with ignite!🎆
Take time to purge what no longer serves you in your home and work environments. In this case, I am referring to physical objects, such as books, papers, unused tools and appliances, etc. Get creative. Take photos of favorite objects that you simply don’t use and create a folder for these sentimental items – and let the real thing go. Try my "Take 5" approach to decluttering. Decide on a surface area or drawer, set a timer for 5 minutes and begin to empty, sort, purge and re-home the contents. A new 5 minute daily habit is all it takes to "green" your physical environment. #dailyhabits, #progressnotperfection, #atomichabits
Elevating your consciousness about living green in all areas of your life will reduce your stress and increase your success. Give it a try and share your story with me. #lifecoaching, #holisticlifecoach
