When your expectations are closed ended, they often lead to disappointment.

What I mean by "closed ended" is having the expectation of something specific. Expectations are the playground for learning and self-awareness. How can you contribute to what you expect? Get comfortable with accepting that you simply cannot control others.


  • Managing expectations means self-management

  • You can contribute to the outcome you desire

  • Choose thoughts and feelings now, that resonate with the outcome

  • Take action steps toward creating the outcome you desire

  • Become less rigid about the end result, and focus on how you will feel when this desire is met


Gaining clarity on your expectations puts you in the driver's seat. Now you can go ahead and accept the outcome for what it is. See the gifts in how your story unfolds.
