Unhook From A Mindset of Lack


The first chapter of my book, Keyed In - 7 Keys to Transform Your Life is "What you Think About, you Bring About. This is a critical Key to unhooking from a mindset of lack. When you focus on scarcity, you are in a fear-based mindset. Fear is a restrictive emotion. Think about how your body responds when you feel fear. Your body gets tense, closed off, and has a hardened energy that may feel like a shield. In actuality, your fear based energy is closing you off from being in the flow of prosperity. You can shift from not-enough to more-than-enough to limitless when you consciously choose to acknowledge the abundance you experience and challenge your thoughts of lack.

To unhook from your mindset of lack, you must have a willingness to set aside fear and worry. When you are mindfully aware of your thoughts, you have the opportunity to check in with them. Your thoughts are not facts. You are in charge of your thoughts and can choose to challenge them, distance yourself from them, or simply allow them to float by like clouds in the sky. Recall the last time you were in a thought spiral around running out of money and not being able to live your best life. To challenge your thought, ask yourself, "Is it true?" Explore if your thought is grounded in evidence. Go ahead and challenge your thoughts and identify for yourself how they are not facts, that there are options, that you may be catastrophizing. What new thoughts and feelings come up now? What actions can you take to live with a prosperous mindset?


Sometimes, a thought feels overwhelming in the moment. That is a great time to distance yourself from your thought. When your thought feels overwhelming, place your palm directly in front of your face, almost touching your nose. Be in this moment where your palm represents your thoughts, and you are right there with them. Take a few breaths and be with your thoughts. Then, slowly move your palm away from your face. Create space between you and your palm - you and your thoughts. In this space arises possibility. Feel the safety you have when there is space between you and your overwhelming thoughts.


Another way to mindfully face your thoughts is to imagine them floating by, like fluffy white clouds in the sky. Or try a helpful way to detach from your thoughts by imagining placing them down on the ground beside you. You don't need them now. You are willing to put them down. It's safe to do so.


Letting go of lack opens the door to receiving prosperity. There is plenty of money and resources for everyone. Allow yourself to be in the flow of prosperity. The energy of money is one of giving and receiving in an endless exchange. A fearful scarcity mindset will close you off from that flow. A consciously prosperous mindset positions you to jump into the stream of abundance. It's always flowing, and only your fear and limited beliefs prevent you from living with freedom, joy and safety. #Mindset, #prosperity, #lifecoach, #lifecoaching, #afraidIdonthaveenough #worryaboutmoney
